Senior Quantum Algorithm Scientist

Join Qutwo on our quest to bridge the gap between the classical and the quantum world. We unite Qutwo OS and world-class AI and quantum scientists with the most forward-looking enterprises to develop competitive edge through classical AI, hybrid, and full quantum systems.

We are a fast-growing team of 30 – a collective of leading experts building on deep interdisciplinary academic and industry expertise across quantum computing, AI, optimization, and simulation. We bring together the brightest minds ready to tackle the most challenging problems in AI computing.

We are seeking an outstanding Quantum Algorithm Scientist. If you are a humble learner, not afraid of the unknown, and dedicated to putting the client first, we encourage you to apply.

Role Description

As a Quantum Algorithm Scientist, you’ll work together with our team and customers full-time primarily from our Helsinki office (Maria01). You will be collaborating closely with our scientists, engineers, and customers. As a Senior Quantum Scientist, you are expected to bring a blend of research excellence, practical implementation ability, and serve as a subject matter expert in your own niche.

Qualification

  • A strong track record of high-quality research and innovation in quantum computing, demonstrated by publications or significant projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant post-PhD experience (or equivalent experience after an MSc).
  • Proven experience with quantum algorithms, such as VQA (QAOA, VQE) or QUBO implementations, and benchmarking them against classical solutions.
  • Deep practical knowledge of one or more major quantum algorithm frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane…)
  • Practical experience with quantum cloud platforms (e.g., IBM Quantum, IQM Resonance…).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across disciplines, both internally and externally.
  • Capability to provide technical direction or mentorship and guidance to Associate and Expert Scientists.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus but not a requirement:
    • Experience with hybrid quantum-classical architectures, including classical preprocessing or circuit simulation.
    • Familiarity with quantum circuit optimization, error correction, or error mitigation techniques.
